Lakeshore Performance
Lakeshore Engineering was a Joint Venture partner for the construction of an activated sludge wastewater treatment plant. The treatment system included headworks, a 150’ diameter circular SBR, filtration, chemical feed systems, solids handling, & disinfection.

Lakeshore self-performed the concrete and mechanical work on the project. Over 5000 cy of reinforced concrete was installed at the project. The concrete work was coordinated closely with the other trades and the final product won an ACI award for the State of Georgia.
The new treatment plant was constructed inside an old rendering plant which presented many construction challenges. Lakeshore capitalized on the extensive experience of its management and field staff to analyze the existing conditions and development of a 3-D model of the existing structure, openings, and existing features to make sure everything fit as designed.
Lakeshore was also responsible for the electrical scope of work and was able to utilize some of the existing electrical gear to energize the plant. The project was a tremendous success for everyone involved.
This project is an example of how Lakeshore Engineering collaborated closely with the Owner and the Engineer to bring the project into budget through value engineering and creative thinking.
